deep bars in the rotor that result in higher rotor resistance at low speeds thus resulting in larger starting torques. The higher resistance is due to the skin effect.

What is the effect of starting torque and power factor on double cage and deep bar cage 3phase induction motor?

In double cage and deep bar the tarting torque increases due to skin effect in the rotor wire. So the rotor circuit draw less current than simple circuit that draw around 7-8 times the rated current on starting. Due to skin effect the rotor resistance increases and it provide maximum torque at low speed.

Where is flemings left hand and right hand rules are used in operation of induction motor?

For conventional flow (plus to minus) FLH rule is for motor action, and FRH rule is for generator action. So you can use FRH rule to determine the direction in which voltages are induced into the rotor by the rotating magnetic field, then use FLH rule to determine the direction in which the resulting forces, due to the rotor-bar currents, will act to rotate the rotor.

How can you pass a function name as argument of another function?

== == Let me correct the Q. Strictly speaking, You never pass a function name to another function, you actually pass function address as argument to another function. However, since the function name automatically resolves into function address, it could be deemed correct to say that you pass function name. Now, the answer: If you're talking about function pointers: void Foo(double (*fptr)(int), int x, int y); double Bar(int i); int main() { Foo(&Bar, 1, 2); /*Previous Line passes Bar's address to Foo. The & behind Bar is optional because it's implicit, but I put it there to emphasize that it's the address of Bar being passed.*/ return 0; } void Foo(double (*fptr)(int), int x, int y) { (*fptr)(10); /*Previous line will call Bar(10) because main passed it Bar's address. Explicitly declaring the dereference is not required, however I explicitly wrote it in to emphasize that it is a pointer that is getting dereferenced.*/ //do something } double Bar(int i) { //do something return 0; } Note, the function pointer must have the same parameter list as the function you are trying to set the function pointer equal to.

Why squirrel cage rotor is also known as short circuited rotor?

A squirrel-cage rotor resembles a hamster or gerbil exercise wheel, and consists of a pair of ring-shaped conductors, connected together with numerous bar-shaped conductors. These bars are termed 'active conductors' because it is into these that voltages are induced by the machine's rotating magnetic field. The resulting currents circulate along the bars and return via the ring-shaped conductors which act to interconnect, or short-circuit, the common ends of the bar conductors.

What cage should you get for two robo hamsters if you dont want an aquarium?

A dwarf hamsters cage can be the same as a regular hamsters'. Metal bars always work! My cousins have dwarf hamsters and they have an aquarium and a metal bar cage connected with plastic tubes. Although they prefer the aquarium more than the metal bar cage they still use the metal bar cage a ton! Hope I helped! :)

Why are the rotor bars of a squirrel cage induction motor usually slanted i.e. not entirely parallel with the shaft?

The squirrel cage is skewed so that the force applied to the rotor it continuous. If they were straight then the force would be jerky, as whole of the bar is cutting the magnetic field lines at the same time. With the bars skewed the amount of the bar cutting the field line grows continuously and the next bar starts cutting the field lines as the first finishes. also, slots are skewed to get uniform torque ,reduce the magnetic locking (also called COGGING EFFECT) between stator and rotor, and thirdly to reduce the magnetic humming noise during running condition

What is the difference between a double bar graph and a bar graph?

The difference between a bar graph and a double bar graph is...... A bar graph displays one set of data, and a double bar graph compares two different sets of information/data.So should have a key.
