It is the time which has been used in most of Indiana for the past five years since it has started using Daylight Saving Time in the entire state. The reason that it is often referred to as "double-fast time" is because the entire state of Indiana lies geographically in the Central time zone, so putting in in the Eastern time zone, which is one hour ahead, effectively shifts about 45 minutes of daylight from morning to evening year round. By observing Eastern Daylight time (EDT), about 105 minutes of daylight is shifted from morning to evening, and the clock says about 1:45 PM EDT when the sun passes overhead in central Indiana, where by true apparent time it would be noon, which is why EDT is often called "double-fast time" in Indiana.

Answer to timing belt for 1996 AltimaThey don't have timing belts. At least mine doesn't. Double check your manual or call a Nissan dealer & ask to be sure. There is not a timing belt on this model or any year before or after this model. You have a 2.4L engine with a timing chain and there is no reason to replace the timing chain unless it is making noise. The chain is at least rated at a 7-10 hour job and should not be considered for repair due to the damage that can arise if not careful.
