A thunderstorm that doesn't produce precipitation of any kind. This is dangerous in heavily wooded areas.
Dry lightning is flashes of lightning and thunder, but any rain evaporates before reaching the ground.
Lightning usually occurs when is rains, sleets, hails etc, most comonly when there is a thunder storm. Dry lightning simply means that there is not rain present when the lightning occurs. Hope that helps
The dryness after the wet season
Wildfires may be caused by humans or weather such as lightning or dry spells.
Lightning starts by a Thunder storm. Thunderstorms always come with a lot of wind. The wind starts to rub the surface of the ground and buildings. This action brings the electrons to the clouds. The ground becomes positively charged and the bottom of the cloud becomes negative and upper part becomes positive. Since clouds are better conductors than air, the clouds start to build up charges. This causes the lightning. Once lightning hits a tree, or another object, not just the ground, then the current moves through the tree and continues to spread horizontally. By Allie. (Scientist) Source: http://library.thinkquest.org/10796/ch11/lightning.htm A single stroke of lightning can reach a temperature of 30,500oC, or five times hotter than the Sun's surface. If lightning strikes dry vegetation, this heat energy can start bushfires. A lightning bolt A lightning leader A lightning strike A lightning stroke
the weakest lightning bolt is ground current in dry land
lightning happens in the summer because it is so dry that when it rains lightning will come.

Very dry and hot weather, and lightning.
It travels at the same speed.
The dryness after the wet season
Some people say lightining occurs mostly in winter, because of the dry air. Dry air is a conductor, so lightning would run through Others say it occurs mostly in the spring and summer, because the air is warm and humid. Some say that warm air is needed for lightning to strike
They mostly happen in dry lands unless there always wet then they happen alot

The glades fires form because they are in a dry condition it makes a fire, usually caused by lightning.
The difference between lightning and static is lightning is formed by giant clouds rubbed against each other and static is something such as flanel p.j.s rubbing together. Lightning is big, and static is small.
It does burn. Trees struck by lightning (or that strike power lines) will be scorched and often die completely as a result. In fact, "dry lightning" (with little or no accompanying precipitation) is a common natural cause of wildfire (but is generally exceeded by the number of wildfires started by human activity).
