Dubstep is a type of music that has different structures to it. Made with Music Creation software and various vxt plugins and synthesizers.
the different structures put together are:
bass-the beat and rhythym of it without a certain harmony
wobble-a thing that has a unique tempo with is going up and down like WABAWABA
vocals-the singing and voices
etc.

when it began, there were minimal patterns. usually a Drum pattern playing at 140 bpm and strong mid range frequencies as well as the hard pumping lows (Bass)
there were usually little to no vocals present but maybe a warped and manipulated sample of a vocal.
Dubstep originated from a mixture of 'Reggae Dub' and UK '2 step Garage' in the underground music scene in South London at around 1998.
Since it has evolved over time new artists have been introducing vocals and higher range frequencies into their tracks and as it has become increasingly popular it has been adapted into 'Brostep'.
