Depends on how much DXM you ingest, as well as your individual tolerance, body mass index, what form of DXM you ingest, how you space out the dosages (or not), etc. The effects are divided into five levels of intensity, or "plateaus", which I will explain only very briefly. First plateau is just nice, slightly different, things are more interesting. Second plateau is mostly just an intensification of first, but you may find it harder to walk, form sentences, speak, etc. and the dissociation will be more noticeable. Third plateau is by now completely different from first, with the dissociation becoming strong enough to make you care very little or not at all about things that would normally annoy, depress, or anger you, while making positive things far more fascinating. Your brain, body, perceptions, and everything will be quite liquidy. Fourth plateau is hard to explain. Suffice it to say that while on a fourth plateau trip I get so dissociated that I feel no connection to my identity anymore, and forget my name, what it means to be me, etc. I had to try hard to understand the existence of other people, because their names and faces just didn't seem to have any meaning. My consciousness felt like an endless, rolling ocean. Plateau Sigma is achieved through a dosage regimen which leaves more DXM in the body as opposed to DXO, what most of it is usually converted to. This creates an experience that is completely psychotic, with powerful hallucinations and delusions, mimicking schizophrenia. Plateau Sigma is NOT the same thing as other psychedelics, and is far more likely to result in a horrible, terrifying time than a fun trip.

Yesterday morning I took 150mg Wellbutrin and 2 teaspoons of Delsym cough syrup and within an hour I was feeling dizzy (sort of out of it). My physician was knew I have been taking Wellbutrin for several years when he recommended Delsym for a cough caused by a sinus infection. Delsym has Dexthromethorphan Polystirex in it and although it was a really low dose you could be someone really sensitive to DXM but you should keep in mind Wellbutrin (Bupropion) interacts with DXM. Wellbutrin raises blood plasma levels and inhibits the liver from taking it out of your body. Thus resulting in the effect of Dextromethorphan being magnified and extended! "Wellbutrin (bupropion) is a potent CYP2D6 enzyme (which metabolizes dextromethorphan) inhibitor. CYP2D6 inhibition slows down the conversion of dextromethorphan --> dextrophan, and therefore increases the ratio of DXM to DXO, resulting in a more experience with an increased amount of adverse side effects. Some users have reported that the combination of these two drugs can lead to experiencing effects for several days, and there have been reports of people on bupropion taking therapeutic doses of DXM and getting effects comparable to a low recreational dose level." I personally used to abuse this combination because of this fact. Just so I could be high for days, if i had not gone to rehab I am certain I would be dead just like my best friend. Fixing this is easy, take a much lower dose than stated on the bottle. And, please... avoid driving until you are certain you are not over medicated. Or talk to your doctor to find a cough medicine alternative.
