Everyone has their own idea of effective teaching, but to be effective a teacher must 'reach' a student on every level. It is important to understand the child as a whole and be able to connect with them. It is important to constantly assess students and decide if they are understanding what you are teaching. Also, effective teachers do not just 'test' students, rather they use multiple forms of assessment. This may include projects, reading logs, worksheets, participation, and papers.

This method encourages active engagement and helps students develop a deeper understanding of the material.
