What are the processes of land reclamation?
Land reclamation is the creation of dry land from an area that was previously covered by water. Land reclamation can also refer to the process of recovering land that was previously damaged/abandoned and making it usable again.Land reclamation is used by many countries to expand their available land space by filling the sea/coast with sand/rocks. There are 2 major methods of land reclamation:Landfill: Creating land by draining waterlogged areas such as swamps and marshes and filling them with materials like sand to form dry land.Empoldering: Method of creating land from the sea by using polders.A good example of land reclamation using both the landfill and empoldering method is the Palm Island of Dubai.
