Most people are able to fix the "4000 error" by accessing the control panel.
For XP:
Click start > control panel > Addd/remove programs> iTunes> change/uninstall and click on "repair" (NOT UNINSTALL).
This re-installs iTunes as the main CD burning program and overides any competing
burning software, like Nero for example. Don't worry you won't lose your
music. If you're nervous about losing your music, copy it before you perform
the repair.
