The SS is going to be faster. Comparing the Camaro SS and the V8 Z28 both come with 4-wheel antilock disc brakes and offer optional traction control. Base models use a 5-speed manual transmission or optional automatic; the Z28 offers automatic or a 6-speed manual. The SS package is produced by SLP Engineering, an independent manufacturer of performance parts and includes a higher-output version of the V8, functional hood scoop, larger tires, different rear spoiler, and upgraded suspension The Z28 is rated at 300 horsepower, the SS is 305. The z28 and SS have the exact same engine and are underated from the factory. The real numbers are more like 345hp. Putting a z28 and SS together to race, it can vary by car, some z28's are actually faster. So the most accurate answer is they both run the same times. The fastest ones out there though should be the stripped down model z28 with cloth interior and no t tops or options. When the Z28 was built, a number of them were taken and they added the SS parts, which normally had airbox, some had different exhaust, ss hood(is functional) but, not functional enough to make any hp difference. Some had minor suspension mods, etc.
There was no SS camaro in 1992.
The 2000 Camaro Z28 had 305 horsepower. The 2000 Camaro SS had 320 horsepower.
about 320 Anywhere from between 300-320hp depending on whether or not if it was a Z28 or a SS Camaro.
from 1993-2002 the ss is faster. they have the same engine as the z28, but minor upgrades, such as the ram air hood, and cold air intake, etc...
LT1 is the type of engine. the 96 camaro ss has an LT1, and so does the 96 z28. the difference between the z28 and the ss is, the ss has the ram air hood, and other slp options such as cold air intake, hurst shifter, etc..but to answer, the ss is faster than the z28, simply because of the small stuff. same engine though. Not that much faster though. A catback and good CAI on a Z28 and you'll be slightly faster than the SS (IF your Z has 3.23 gears). The SS intake SUCKS actually but the hood looks awesome
Stock for Stock, all else being equal. No. An SS is a Z28 with a few induction upgrades giving it another 15 horsepower at the wheels. If you have modded at all, then you may be equal or higher, or be faster in a different powerband. If the SS is an Auto, and you have the Hurst 6-speed, you can have the advantage if you are not a bad driver. But quick answer. No, not at all. The Camaro SS has everything a Z/28 has and more plus A LS6 corvette engine and 6-speed hurst shifter /\ l l That guy is an idiot, I own a 2000 SS camaro, no your z28 is not faster, and if its stock you will never shift faster then an auto, you may get a jump at a better rpm but you will not shift faster, he was right about the 15 rwhp, because of the forced air induction from hood, and my car doesnt have an LS6 corvette engine its an LS1 the exact same engine that is in the same year Z28's
No. The 1998 to 2002 hoods are sculptured in the front to fit the restyled headlights.
That's easy because there was no Camaro SS in 1994
Depends on whos driving
super sport no doubt about it.
they are the exact same
Factory rated 310 in a z28, 345 in an SS.
