Press letter D on keyboard for default colors black/white, press X on keyboard to revert default collors, click on color picker and choose color in Color Picker dialog or choose color from Swatches. See related link for detailed explanation with screenshots.
That's simple colors set in advance so you can use them any time you want to paint with Brush for example, Brush tool use Foreground color to paint with or you can fill layer with Foreground or Background color from Edit > Fill. Which colors are set as Foreground and Background you can see at bottom of Toolbox on left side of screen. To reset to default colors (Black/White) click letter D on your keyboard, to switch colors click X on keyboard.
Open the image in Photoshop, Select the Eyedropper tool to pick up the foreground and background color of the logo so that they are set as the foreground and background color in photoshop (white should be foreground) choose 'Image', 'Adjustments' and go to 'Gradient Map...' If the background is not right (not 100% white) then click on the gradient itself and move the white color stop to the middle until the background is 100% white. Click OK and you're done

The opposite of foreground is background.
Black as the foreground, and White as the background. I have seen blue appear as the foreground. You can change these colours to every colour of the spectrum and beyond. As far as I can see, there is no way to change the default colors.

Hi you can make a background in several ways. 1. you can make a colour background in your themes options and then add the background. 2. you can make a background colour/gradient in photoshop or you can make a custom background with colour and images in phototshop and then upload it to you website. or there is a third option - get someone to design the background for you.
Foreground - The part closest to the viewer. Middleground - the part inbetween the foreground and background. Background - The part farthest away from the viewer.
