Closer to the volcano.
Large pieces will fall close to the volcano, due to variable weight and pressure.
Volcanic fragments are small pieces of rock that come from a volcano. Fragments are usually thrown in the air during a volcanic eruption.
Rocks ejected from a volcano are classed accorcing to size. Fragments less than a micron in diameter are volcanic dust. Volcanic ash are less than 2 mm diameter. Fragments between 2 and 64 mm diameter are called lapilli (Italian for little stones). A Volcanic bomb is Tiny particle of ejected rock less than 64 mm diameter.
Suppose you're at an extinct volcano with steep sides. The ground is mostly ash and small pieces of the rock. What type of volcano is this

Volcano rocks come from the volcano itself because parts of the volcano might chip off inside so that will be small pieces of the volcano which are known by rocks or volcano rocks.
No. A shield volcano is a large volcano with broad, shallow slopes formed from layers of lava flows formed by non-explosive eruptions. A cinder cone volcano is a small, steep-sloped volcano composed of pieces of rock formed by lava that was ejected explosively into the air.

Pieces of rocks made of minerals similar to those that are formed the rocky planets and moons.

Volcanic ash tends to contain a mixture of tiny, sharp pieces of rock and glass, made from liquid droplets volcano that have cooled quickly. It's abrasive and mildy acidic and is known as tephra. Volcanic ash is expelled with great force from a volcano during an eruption. When the ash falls, it is hot and deadly, and can ignite fires, and it can also be spread over a very wide area by winds.
No. Diamonds are formed deep within the Earth's mantle, under extreme high temperature and high pressure. They erupt to the Earth's surface by way of deep source volcanic eruptions, which leave behind plugs of solidified magma called volcanic pipes, which may contain pieces of minerals they gathered on their way up, including diamonds. These events are much rarer than ordinary volcanic eruptions, in fact we have yet to observe one in action.

I believe that porphyritic andesite is formed from volcanic ash and bits and pieces of minerals that eventually become ejected from the volcano. How the andesite becomes porphyritic is that it formed inside the volcano before being blown out of along with the magma and hot gases. You can find silver and gold specs as well as a few other metals encased by a smooth texture of solidifyed ash. Lee Durst (WVC 08)
If the process of cementation is volcanic you get a "tuff". If the cementation post sedimentation of rock clasts you get a sedimentary rock which may be a breccia or a conglomerate.
