According to Dr. Gordon http://www.psych.wright.edu/gordon/psy110/Psy110Module34-slides.pdf Glucostatic theory suggests that "glucose" sensitive receptor cells called "glucostats" monitor glucose levels in the blood. Glucostats are located throughout body (liver and brain). Glucostats in the liver send neural impulses to the hypothalamus to reduce hunger. Hope this helps M
