From a Christian viewpoint: Not everything in this world was actually created by God. After the rebellion in the Garden of Eden, mankind and the world were no longer governed directly by God. Because of this, mankind has done things that were not intended for them to do and wouldn't be done if the world was ruled by God. Most diseases have come from mankind's actions and creations, not Gods. This has largely been confirmed by science with research done in the exposure to chemicals and biological experiments concerning microbes that we should have never been in contact with. Some diseases are microbes that have mutated into harmful variations from their benign original forms. Some viruses and bacteria might have had an original purpose that science does not know about yet that would not have been harmful to humans if we were living under God's instructions.

The first human couple would not have died or ever gotten sick if they would have followed God's sovereignty instead of wanting to decide for themselves want was good and what was bad. Why has God let this go on so long when he has the power to stop it? That leads to another question of whether or not humans want God to tell them what to do yet. If I were God, and I looked down on what humans were doing today, I would think the majority of them do not. It is only when it becomes absolutely clear that humans need God that he will take back control of his creation and all those willing to follow his leadership will be part of his original purpose for humankind. At that point he could rightly and justifiably destroy any who oppose him because we have seen the results of such a rebellion.
