* It is highly possible he is telling the truth if the woman is older. Example: I keep in contact with young people because I have helped them with a problem and we became friends and nothing more. All have girlfriends. Sometimes people just joke back and forth. If he is hiding nothing then he should quelch your fears by letting you read one or two messages from this older woman.
