Gomadam is a Vaishnavaite Acharya Lineage and are one of the 74 Simhasanathipathis nominated by Sri Swamy Ramanujar to propagate Sri Vaishnava Vishistadvaita Sidhdhanta. The descendants of this lineage belong to Koundinya Gotra. And many of them are highly reverred scholars and acharya purushas. This family has kainkaryams (Service rights) at all the three Major Sri Vaishnava Temples viz. Koil, Tirumalai and Perumal Koil (Sri Rangam, Tirupati and Kancheepuram). Swamy Manavala Mamuniga a Great acharya of the Sri Vaishnava Sampradaya descended in this Lineage and became the acharya of Lord Sri Ranganatha himself.
