Gravitational potential energy is the potential energy an object has due to its position in a gravitational field. The higher an object is the greater its gravitational potential. When it falls the gravitational potential becomes kinetic energy.

Potential energy and gravitational potential energy are different from each other ."Potential energy is the ability of a body to do work." Anddue_to_its_height.%22">"Gravitational potential energy is the ability of a body to do work due to its height."Gravitational potential energy is a type of potential energy.

Gravitational energy is a form of potential energy.

Energy related to the height of an object is gravitational potential energy.Energy related to the height of an object is gravitational potential energy.Energy related to the height of an object is gravitational potential energy.Energy related to the height of an object is gravitational potential energy.

Gravitational energy is a type of potential energy.

Energy that is stored in the gravitational field is called gravitational potential energy, or potential energy due to gravity.

An object gets gravitational potential energy by

Gravitational + Potential = 100 If you have 67 J of potential energy your gravitational energy would be 33 J.

That refers to gravitational potential energy - energy related to a gravitational field. If you lift an object up, its gravitational potential energy increases; if it falls back down, its gravitational potential energy decreases.

Any object that is in a raised position has gravitational potential energy.Any object that is in a raised position has gravitational potential energy.Any object that is in a raised position has gravitational potential energy.Any object that is in a raised position has gravitational potential energy.

It is different because gravitational potential energy is when something is getting pulled by gravity and potential energy is stored energy which means that it is not moving and the energy is not getting released as gravitational energy is.

No. Gravitational energy is potential energy.

The planet IS the source of gravitational (potential) energy.

If a body with gravitational potential energy is allowed to fall, then the potential energy is converted (mostly) to kinetic energy.

An apple hanging from a tree has gravitational potential energy...anything which could fall to the ground has gravitational potential energy

Any kind of potential energy: gravitational potential energy, chemical energy, energy stored in a spring, nuclear energy.Any kind of potential energy: gravitational potential energy, chemical energy, energy stored in a spring, nuclear energy.Any kind of potential energy: gravitational potential energy, chemical energy, energy stored in a spring, nuclear energy.Any kind of potential energy: gravitational potential energy, chemical energy, energy stored in a spring, nuclear energy.

Does speed 'effect' the gravitational potential energy of an object? No, but gravitational potential energy can be converted into kinetic energy - so the gravitational potential energy can effect the speed. Ep = mgh Energy Potential = mass * 9.81 (gravity) * height Speed / Velocity is absent from that equation.

Gravitational potential energy IS mechanical energy. Mechanical energy includes both kinetic energy, and potential energy. When an object falls, gravitational potential energy will be converted to KINETIC energy.

Yes. Mechanical energy is the sum of potential energy and kinetic energy; this includes gravitational potential energy.

The free fall of the object in gravitational field changes its gravitational potential energy to kinetic energy

Gravitational Potential Energy is equal to Potential Energy therefore the formula for GPE (Gravitational Potential Energy) is PE=mass x gravity x height therefore the formula is PE=mgh

Well gravitational potential energy is potential energy that depends on the height of an object so an object would have gravitational potential energy when ever it's of the ground or at a high height (it doesn't have to be very high) for example if you lift up a ball it has the potential to fall or if your climbing a mountain you have gravitational potential energy.
