What is guinea pig quarantine?

Guinea pig quarantine is if you have one guinea pig that you already know and feel that it is lonly and dcecide to add another guinea pig or you have more than one and would like another usually you have to quarantine. This is where when you buy a new piggie you put it in another cage away from the other pig/pigs in another room. Guinea pigs are good at hidimg illnesses they can hide them for upto 2 weeks this is so prey in the wild dont know that it is weak. If the guinea is ill it could pass any infections onto your piggie/piggies you already have. I have three and have never quarantined and they were all introudced seperatly. This is because I bought mine from a very good pet shop and asked how old they were, If new guineas have been added and what their health is like. If you are buying your new piggie from a friend or off the internet I would definetly quarantine.
