Xi’an, Shanghai, Yangzhou, and Henan present day.
I'm not from shanghai, but I'm in love with the guzheng:)
A guzheng is an instrument which, most notably, has at least 18 strings. The guzheng also features multiple bridges. The guzheng is played by plucking the strings on the instrument, comparable to similar Asian zither intruments.
The word 'guzheng' is pronounced as "goo-jung" in English. In Chinese, it is written as 古筝, which is romanized as "gǔzhēng" in pinyin.
Who even cares? Its gonna take too long anyways.....
The national instrument of China is called the Guzheng. This instrument has three sound holes, 21 musical strings, and is played by hand.
A zheng is another name for a guzheng - a zither-like musical instrument with at least 18 strings and moveable bridges, originating in Chinese traditional music.

An European zither about 30 to 45 strings, and a Chinese zither has about 21-25 strings.Between thirteen to twenty five.
Traditional Chinese music mainly features instruments such as the "guqin" (a seven-stringed zither) or a "guzheng" ( a 16-stringed similar instrument), a "pipa" (a four or five stringed lute), a flute (usually bamboo), a recorder, a gong, drums, and cymbals. However, since Chinese music ranges greatly, there are dozens of other instruments that could fit into this category as well, including an entirely different set of instruments for modern Chinese music.
