Hajj is the 5th pillar of Islam's five pillars. Hajj (or pilgrimage) is to go to Mecca (or Makkah) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is obligatory for every adult Muslim, regardless gender, to go for hajj at least once in life if he or she can afford it physically, financially, and and with safety.

Hajj (pilgrimage) is a great annual event for Muslims. There are many reasons why Muslims perform hajj, which translate into the following benefits:

  • It teaches that Muslims are brothers and are equal.
  • It teaches that there is no differences between people due to race, tribe, color, home country, or language.
  • It teaches the real human rights when you find people equal during praying, worshiping, and during performing the rituals.
  • Hajj teaches that we are belonging to God (Allah) alone and that we all need his mercy and forgiveness.
  • Hajj is the biggest gathering in the world. It is a demonstration of Islamic unity and universality.
  • Muslims get acquainted with the spiritual and historical environment of the prophet Muhammad, which strengthens their faith.
  • It is a reminder of the Grand Assembly of the Day of Judgment when people will stand equal before Allah waiting for their final destiny.
  • It confirms commitment of Muslims to Allah.
  • On top of the above, Muslims on Hajj are rewarded with forgiveness of all their sins and they return home as pure and innocent as the new born.

Hajj is one of the five important pillar of Islam which a Muslim must observe as means of achieving nearness to Allah subhanahu wataala. unlike Salaat which is said five times daily by all Muslims, Hajj is observed once a year, just like Ramadan is also observed once a year. Hajj requires some conditions such as Maturity, Good health, enough Money for the journey and to maintain the family and more importantly a peaceful atmosphere in respect of the entire exercise.
