Best Answer

Do you mean a Cobra? They are the only snakes with hoods to my knowledge, and sometimes go by the name "Hooded Snake".

If so, there are many kinds of Cobras, such as the King, Monocle, Egyptian, Indian, Shield-Nosed, Burrowing, Desert Black, and Water Cobras.

Cobra's are the snakes with the hood it is their most recognizable feature, a flap of skin and muscle behind the head which it can flare, perhaps the purpose is to make it look larger and mostly to threaten predators. My science teacher told me.
