It depends on what you want to do with the horse. For ridding there are very many breeds great for ridding! I personally perfer Quarter Horses, but there are meny breeds, it just depends on the purpose intended for the horse and the breeds you like. You can find many horse brees books in librarys and in book stores.
Whatever the terrain, open ground or in the woods, anyone capable of riding a horse is a horse rider.
Horse riding will certainly tighten the muscles in your bottom and legs.
Well it depends. Trail ridding and pleasure ridding requires no skill at all. But if you are a competition rider you know how challenging the sport can be. To be a good rider you must me athletic and have good balance. Ridding takes a lot of leg muscles. To be a good rider you have to have a very high level of patience, because you must realize that a horse is a smart animal that can get confused, frightened, or just plain stubborn at times. But what i think the most important aspect to be a good rider is to have trust in your mount, while the horse you are ridding has to have trust in you. The chances that you would end up having a good ride if both the horse and rider don't trust each other is very slim.
