How do you stop fungus from growing on a tree trunk?

For any kind of fungus. located on anything, anywhere, whether or not it is on the ground or a tree trunk, etc. Make a tea of horticultural corn meal. Not gluten corn meal! It kills any fungus. i am told it even gets rid of Athlete's foot if you soak your feet in it. To one gallon water, mix in a handful of horticultural corn meal. Stir well and let it soak for an hour or so. Mix as much as needed using those proportions. I make this tea every spring after our rainy season has ended, to spray all the shrubs, especially my roses, and crepe myrtles. It prevents black spot fungus, and powdery mildew. If you have toad stools in your yard, they are caused by rotting wood under the ground. This could be dead roots or pieces of lumber left in construction and covered with dirt. Soak the area well with this tea. Usually one application is enough. If the problem is not completely taken care of, you can repeat it as many times as you need to. I don't think you can over do it, as you can do with chemical products. Horticultural corn meal can be bought at nurseries that carry organic products, or feed stores. I find it costs less at feed stores.
