Interesting. Coastal areas tend to have a higher humidity level due to the massive amount of water near by and that will make it feel hotter than it really is. BUT it also depends on what part of the earth your looking at. The inland temp of a country on the equator will be much higher than a coastal country like England or Norway. There are many more factors to your question than you realize. If your really interested, do some research.

Koalas are able to live in a variety of weather types, as long as they have their food requirements met. They are known to inhabit cooler areas of southern Australia, including sub-alpine regions, and extend north up the Queensland coast and inland where the weather is hotter and drier. Koalas from the southern areas have thicker fur than northern koalas. In hot weather, koalas expend little energy anyway, so they do not suffer from moisture loss.
