How did imperialism help the cause of World War 1?
Imperialism is the forceful extending of power over new land or
country by gaining territory or by establishing dominance over a
country's political and economical arena. By 1900, Britain had
gained many territories that expanded across the five continents.
France also had a large control over many areas in Africa. Germany
was late into this imperialism game and only acquired a small
amount of areas in Africa. This scramble for land resulted from the
Industrial Revolution where everyone is looking for foreign
markets. With Britain's and France's increase in terriories, the
rivalry with Germany also increased.
