Yes, it does. We studied this in our 5th grade science class. You have to add a chemical to get rid of the chlorine. So i wouldn't sugest u fill up a bowl of fauset water and put a fish in it. With too much chlorine it can kill a fish.

De-mineralised water treatment process is having activated carbon bed at the start of the process. This merely adsorbs all the chlorine content in the water.

If it escapes from this bed, then it gets ionised in cation bed and gets separated out.

Hence DM water having conductivity less than 5 microsimence/cm and pH between 6.5 to7.1 do not have chlorine in it.

Purifying water only refers to to the removal or absence of contaminants which are harmful to humans. It may still contain things like chlorine, fluorine, trace minerals, ozone, etc.

It shouldn't. Purified water is often re-purified tap water which contains only very small amounts of chlorine as it is(or none at all).
