Durango was not a Chevy, it is a Dodge. Actually Chevrolet had the "Durango" package. It's a trim package included in many models such as the 1969 Nova and the 1983 S10. Dodge had the Durango, it was a truck model, but for Chevy cars and trucks, it's just a trim package. The trim package included color-keyed floormats, courtesy lights, and custom cloth/vinyl bench seats.
I might be wrong but I belive it was just a special trim Package. Instead of having metal trim it had paint. but I might be wrong. I might be wrong too, but I think it consisted of chrome trim (Ford called it "bright") around windows & headlights, fancier mirrors & wheel covers, & special paint & decals.

The Ford XLT trim level is a "middle of the road" convenience and options package that afforded buyers the ability to highly customize their vehicle. In reality, no, XLT does not mean "Extra Large Truck", XLT, is just another trim package, like Limited, or Eddie Bauer, it's just the lowest trim packages, which means it is not as fancy as the Limited trim package, which is the highest, Eddie Bauer, which is the medium, and XLT, which is the lowest trim package. Yes, XLT means Extra Large Truck
The kick panels ( left and right ) are the interior trim panels ahead of the front doors where the driver and passenger footwells are
