Information is any data that serves a purpose. For any subject, there is loads and loads of raw data. But, information is an assimilation of all the data and represented in a way that is useful to the person viewing it.
For ex: If I were to buy some shares of a company in the stock market, I would some details like how much profit the company is making, what has been the share price movement over the past years, the business expansion plans the company has etc. There is loads and loads of raw data that I can get from the internet about the company. Like the balance sheet, share price movement charts, business expansion plans from news reports etc. But, all this raw data does not serve the purpose.
I would have to sift through the data and note down all the relevant points that I can use and the output of this process is "Information"
Usually share brokers and investment advisors do this kind of data sifting and analysis and send out share purchase/sale recommendation reports. This report is information that a customer can use to make share purcahse/sale decisions.
In Short - Information is nothing but processed Data that serves some kind of purpose.

How the data is stored in a database is much simpler than you might think. Databases use a series of Tables to store the data.A table simply refers to a two dimensional representation of your data using columns and rows.
