i. For measurements, display and control of current, voltage, temperature, pressure, etc. ii. For traffic control and industrial tool control. iii. For speed control of machines.
The Seminar topics in Instrumentation and Control Engineering could be many, since Instrumentation itself is a very vast field. Owing to this I tried to dialogue a little in here: 1) Transducers and Sensors. 2) Electronics measurements and Instrumentation. 3) Micro controllers and Microprocessors. 4) Signal and Sytems( Z, Nyquist t/f, Bode plots, Laplace t/f with/out Convolutions) 5) Control systems. 6) Process control and Actuators. 7) Bio Medical Instrumentation( EEG,EMG,ECG,MRI and X-ray)
The Instrumentation Technology, being an inter-disciplinary branch of engineering, is heading towards development of new & intelligent sensors, smart transducers, MEMS Technology, Blue tooth Technology. The automation systems in the production are rapidly being enhanced and the demand for highly skilled instrumentation engineers is on the rise. In the instrumentation systems manufacturing sector, the demand for well trained process control engineering graduates is always present. This BE (IT) course provides Instrumentation students with sound theoretical & practical training in the operation and design of electronic instruments, digital logic systems, and computer based automatic process control & instrumentation, & automatic control system design, etc. To meet the industrial requirements of future, students are also made to become well versed with personal computer applications in Instrumentation, Process Control Systems Design, PLCs, DSP Architecture & Design, Microprocessors and Microcontroller System Design & Experimentation, Industrial Electronics & Applications.
High Common Mode Rejection Ratio is the main feature of instrumentation amplifier! And other features are high input impedance, low output impedance, high slew rate, low power consumption, more accurate, easier gain adjustment, low thermal and time drift.
basically an input is given to the transducer, which is the 1st basic block of instrumentation system. this transducer's o/p goes to the signal conditioning circuit whose o/p is then given to the recorder, analog meter, digital transistor, printer, controller, oscilloscope and the punch card.

instrumentation helps in designing control systems
mainlyelectronics and instrumentation deals with the electronics based instruments and process controlling of those connected to a process e.g : plc dcs and scada but instrumentation and control are concerned with the control system and the process loop modelling e.g: power drives , linear and non linear control system
DCS : Distributed Control System
electronics and instrumentation engineering it deal with measurement and control system with electronic base,it is all most same as ece
segmental instrumentation
the field of proces control en instrumentation deals with monitoring process parameters en adjust the process (control) based on that information. instrumentation is required to monitor and control the process, and varies from process to process

Instrumentation and control engineering is very useful to control processes in different industries.Temperature control, steam flow control and level control are some common examples of control engineering....

You can apply for Control and Instrumentation, Robotics engineering , Process Control and Instrumentation as the students of B.Tech instrumentation and control are eligible for this courses. NITs, UPES are some good institutes where you can go for these courses.
a primary instrument takes a reading value and sends a signal to a secondary instrument that will control the value of the primary reading.
