Which ever way you look at it you are most likely correct. Usually what i see is they are tan with brown spots.
it can be, or it can be a result of a fungal infection on the leaf. yellowing leaves, especially at the base of the plant are indicative of a root problem - root rot, over watering or even severe fertiliser burn to the roots of the plant
They are either bacteria or bugs.
Over-watering may cause the edges to be brown. If there are spots on the leaves, either a chemical or insects may be causing the problem. Wash the plant's leaves (top and bottom) with a mild soap solution and rinse.
