A meteor
A metiorite. I believe what you're talking about is a meteoroid, not an asteroid. An asteroid is rather large, revolves around the sun, and when one hits the Earth, and a few have, it is disastrous. A meteoroid, on the other hand, is much smaller and when it hits the Earth's atmosphere and burns up (due to the friction of the atmosphere) it is called a meteor. After it reaches the Earth's surface, it is called a meteorite. http://dictionary.infoplease.com/meteor merci, have a good day.
it's called a meteor
If it falls on the Earth, it would be called a meteorite. If it burns up in the atmosphere, it is called a meteor and if it doesn't enter the atmosphere it is a meteoroid.
approx 25% is reflected approx 20% is absorbed approx 55% pass through to Earth's surface (it burns) supposedly
Comet- rock that passes the earth, does not come into contact via gravity. Meteor- rock which is attracted to the earth via gravity, passes into the atmosphere and burns due to friction caused by particles Meteorite- rock, similar to meteor, however it has survived the atmosphere and touched the earths surface.

A meteoroid is a small piece of space debris in the solar system. When a meteoroid enters the Earths atmosphere it becomes a meteor (shooting star). If the meteoroid survives the atmosphere and lands on the Earth, it becomes a meteorite.
Burns up before entering the Earths atmosphere
This is commonly known as meteorites.
Meteor
yes, but not always it depends on the size
Air heated to incandescence.
Meteor
When a meteoroid passes through Earth's atmosphere it's traveling very fast. The friction of the air makes gets the surface so hot it begins to burn or glow red hot. This fire is what you see as it goes through the atmosphere. If it burns up completely it's called a meteor.
