Why is it easy to hunt male pheasants?

It isn't easy to hunt male pheasants. Wild birds can run very quickly through dense cover or hunch down and remain still and unseen. I've seen many a flushed bird land and "know" right where they are - only they're not there when I get there. Now male pheasants certainly are easy to spot in bleached out grasses or corn rows. The flash of red/white/green is unmistakeable. But it certinaly ain't 'easy' to hunt them. It is however a TON of fun.
