It is neutralization, say you have a wasp sting which is alkali, if you put lemon juice on it it would cancel the alkali out making the pain go away. From Nik (btw im only 13)
What happens is that first if you put an acid indicator and a sulphuric acid it will turn red but if you add another solution it will turn a different colour. and if you add acid and alkali together then it will turn into salt and H2O xxx
A wasp sting is an alkali, hence the fact you put vinegar (acid) onto it to stop it hurting. Bee stings however are acidic.
The temperature of the acid will increase
Low pH of the manure counters the high pH of the soil. Acid manure, alkali soil.

It would depend on which acid and alkali were involved, the general rule is that adding an acid to an alkali will produce a salt and water. Sulphuric acid and sodium hydroxide would give sodium sulphate + water Hydrochloric acid and potassium carbonate would give potassium chloride and water and carbon dioxide etc

In acid-base reactions, neutralizing is when you add exactly enough chemical to bring the total solution pH to 7. If you have acid you put alkali in it; for alkali you add acid.
I think Alkali, because the bite is acidic. You have to use alkali to try and neutralise it. ~Shadow-siren-vivian
Alkali paint.
its an acid to prove it put a penny in a cup of cola and it will come out clean x by lauren.conway

If they are put together in equal parts, then they will equalize the PH level.

A spoon and a fork put together is called a spork.
