No. Once a defendant has been found not guilty, there can be no further prosecution. In theory, there can be as many retrials as needed after a hung jury, although there are seldom more than two or three.
The amount of time it takes the jury to reach a decision as well as when the kids arrive from eating dinner, the courtroom looks almost the same.
If a jury cannot reach a verdict, it is considered a hung jury, and the case may result in a mistrial. In this situation, the prosecution can choose to retry the case with a new jury.
Almost universally it is 12 out of 12 votes needed to reach a decision. In some few places, it is 9 out of 12.
