There are several words
Nomadic - generally used with regard to groups of people who follow herds and are not 'settled' in a specific locality.
Peripathetic - generally used with regard to a single person, or type of person, who travels from place to place for work.
Someone who moves from place to place either with herds or for hunting and gathering is called nomadic. Someone who moves seasonally from on fixed area to another in different seasons is practicing transhumance, for example winter and summer pastures. People who were or are truly nomadic usually lived in areas with sparse and seasonal resources.
