I'm not sure what you exactly mean, but if you mean how to merge layers, select all layers (Using CTRL and left click), then right click on them and select merge layers.
until you merge layers or save in picture as .jpg
It is to make one composite layer from multiple layers. It is like having coffee, milk and sugar separate then you mix them (put them together in cup). Note that you don't have access to change amount of coffee or sugar separate as it is with merged layers.
In Photoshop go to File > Automate > Photomerge, from Adobe Bridge go to Tools > Photoshop > Photomerge.
With an image open go to the layers palette and click the new layer icon - it's at the bottom of the palette next to the trash icon (it looks like a sheet of paper with the bottom left corner curled up)
What you mean by join two images? You can open two images separately and drag with Move Tool selected one image on top of another by simple drag and drop. You can open two images as Photoshop layers from Bridge, also image can be imported into another through Place command from File menu. See related links for additional informations
From Photoshop go to File > Automate > Photomerge or do it from Bridge, select photos you want to merge in panorama then go to Tools > Photoshop > Photomerge...

The Layers panel lists all of the layers making up an image, displaying each layer's name and thumbnail view. You can use the Layers panel to hide, view, reposition, delete, rename, and merge layers.
With a graphic program such as Adobe Photoshop. You create a layer, paste your logo/watermark, adjust the size/position and then adjust the transparency of the layer. Once the watermark meets your visual needs, merge all layers or save as an image (i.e. jpeg, tiff, bmp, etc.)
