Asked in Thomas Edison, Nikola Tesla
How long did Nikola Tesla work when Thomas Edison?

Long enough to see what kind of person he
was.

"If Edison had a needle to find in a haystack,
he would proceed at once with the diligence of the bee to examine
straw after straw until he found the object of his search. I was a
sorry witness of such doings, knowing that a little theory and
calculation would have saved him ninety per cent of his labor."

How do you calculate the explicit formula and the nth term of the Fibonacci sequence?

(1/sq rt 5)((1+sq rt 5)/2)n - (1/sq rt 5)((1-sq rt 5)/2)n
This is based on the golden ratio (1+sq rt 5)/2) because the
ratio of 2 Fibonacci terms approaches the golden ratio as the 2
terms used get larger. IE the ratio ot the 10th term to the 9th
term is 55/34 = 1.61765 and the golden ratio is approx.
1.61803.
When using this formula if your calculator does not round, you
will round to get the appropriate Fibonacci number.
Asked in Reproductive System
What concentration of oxygen should be used with a full term newborn?

There are two main concerns when using oxygen on new born
babies. One is oxygen toxicity, the other is meeting the babies
oxygen requirements.
On one hand, oxygen can actually be toxic, especially to
pre-term babies from 32 weeks gestation and lower. High
FiO2's(fraction of inspired oxygen) may even cause blindness (ROP),
and Intracerebral bleeds (ICH). Secondly, the baby must have
sufficient O2 to meets its bodies demands.
I told you this so you know there is a difference in term
newborn, and pre-term, oxygenation requirements. So, the simple
answer to a complicated scenario is, apply the minimum FiO2 that
will address the babies requirements. This is called oxygen
titration.
Asked in History, Politics & Society
Were the Cahuilla a violent tribe?

No. They were allied with both the Spanish and Anglo-Americans.
Good relationships were maintained with the US Army, holders of
Spanish Land Grants and neighboring Native Americans. History can
fairly claim that the Cahullia were responsible for the deaths of
33 or more Luiseno prisoners in what is known as the Temecula
Massacre during the Mexican American War. Perhaps Jose del Carmen
Lugo should not have left his prisoners in the hands of their
traditional enemies when the Spanish withdrew.
Asked in C Programming
Why is the importance of link section in programming c?

Compilation is a three-phase process: preprocessing, compilation
and linking.
The preprocessor's job is to prepare a source file (translation
unit) for compilation. This is achieved by reading each source
file, stripping out the user-comments, performing macro
substitutions and acting upon any conditional compilation
directives, writing the output to an intermediate file which
contains only C code and nothing else. Thus there will be one
intermediate file generated for each translation unit.
The compiler's job is to create an object source file from an
intermediate file. Object source files primarily consist of a
machine code translation of the C source code followed by the
symbol tables, which lists all the internal and external linkages
of the translation unit. An external linkage is simply a type
declaration which is not defined within the current translation
unit; the definition may be provided by a type library or it may be
provided by another translation unit. Either way, the compiler
cannot generate the required machine code, so it uses a symbol (a
placeholder) instead.
Once all translation units are compiled to object files, the
linker examines the linkage tables and uses that information to
generate a single machine code executable from the object source,
substituting the placeholders generated by the compiler and
adjusting memory offsets to suit the resultant code.
Asked in Stamp Collecting (Philately)
Are cancelled stamps worth money?

Modern used stamps do have some value, but not much. Used
stamps, still on paper are, typically sold in large lots by weight
to collectors that are filling spaces in their albums. You can buy
one pound lots for about $15 for a mostly commemorative lot.
Older stamps, used or not, can be worth a great deal.
