There are many different forms of Buddhism practised in England today. Some Buddhists have a passing interest in Dharma others are completely committed to the path towards enlightenment. There are lay Buddhists, Monks and Nuns as well as Yogi Householders.

From my own point of view it's wonderful. It's the only thing I ever did that consistently makes senses and brings benefit.
