i would get the transmission checked it sounds like your torque converter
it makes a humming noise, when you turn the wheel in one direction it will go away and turn it the other way and it will become more pronounced A bearing will ether make noise when you are driving strait and will stop when turning, or visa versa.
Bottom of the engine on the oil pan.

Depending on where the sound is coming from, it may be your fuel pump. Sometimes they are noisy.

On the radiator you have a top hose and a bottom hose. Look at the bottom hose and follow it to where it attaches to the block. Unscrew the two bolts. There is the thermostat.
wow exact thing with my 2001 prizm, this rattling has been going on for over 3 months and havent been able to figure out what it is yet. Some people say its an alternator bearing or a pulley. Im gonna send it in to the dealer soon and hopefully when i find out ill let ya know!
Sounds like a slipping belt. Could be a component not turning, or turning too slowly.
Loud exhaust noise from the front end is usually caused by one of several problems. The exhaust manifold gasket could be blown, the doughnut gasket could be bad, or there could be a crack in the exhaust itself.
