iPhones come locked, you are supposed to bring it to an AT&T store to get it unlocked. But, some people can jailbreak your iPhone so that you can use it without the phone feature. **** dont know who wrote this but, NO. locked and jailbreak are two different things. rooting and jailbreak are the same thing. just means to gain access to the root files, so you can configure the way you want. you must jailbreak an i device before unlocking it (to be used on other networks than programmed for)

jailbroken is sumthing cool you can do to ur ipod or iphone. it gives it abilities get such things as themes, backgrounds, free paid apps and plenty of tweaks. i have mine jailbroken
