Kare Kano is about a girl and a boy who meet in high school. The girl loves attention and pretends to be really nice while practicing really hard at everything at home so she can pretend to be naturally good at everything; however, she is actually rude, weird, and calculating. The boy appears to actually be naturally good at everything, which irks the girl. Together, they get to know each other and decide to try and act like themselves, instead of the people they've been pretending to be for so long.
