If you have been riding your whole life then you could get a 250f. Im 5'8 125 pounds and i ride a 09 yz 250f. Fits me perfect

40lbs is a lot...my old bike was about 35lbs and for me that was pushing it. There's no exact answer though...whatever you feel comfortable with when your riding...everyone is different. I'm in the process of buying a flatland bike that's 25lbs.

you should get a 250 trust me i am 13 and 120 pounds and 5' 5" i ride a 250 and it is a perfect size for me. dont get an 85 because they are way to small
