Light is the part of the electromagnetic spectrum we can see, at one end is the ones that can damage our cells (gamma, X - Ray and UV) and at the other is Radio waves and Microwaves. There may be more either end of the spectrum but we are yet to develop technology that can measure them.

Light is visible to humans and other (but not all) creatures, it is a form of energy and can be converted into other forms of energy (light to heat for example). But, as a form of energy, it cannot be destroyed, only changed into other forms. I have mentioned that light is an electromagnetic wave but there is controversy over the subject. The ultraviolet catastrophe shows that light has properties of a particle while Young's double-slit experiment shows that light must be an electromagnetic wave. As Bender puts it in Bender's Big Score 'I don't know if you're waves or particles, but you go down smooth.'
