It all depends on where you live. if you live in a country/rural area the tap water is most likely from a well or storage facility in the area. The water is not as well treated as city water so bottled water is better because it is cleaner and better for your health. In the city its all the same thing.

From my understanding, 75% of all land on earth is located within at least 1 mile of some sort of body of water. Whether it being a stream, river, lake, pond, reservoir, or ocean. It doesn't matter if people prefer to live near bodies of water, chances are, 75% of the population is living near bodies of water by default. Since we need water to survive, it makes it a whole lot easier to live and survive if we live closer to water than not. In some cultures, it is believed that living near the water can bring prosperity. From my understanding, 75% of all land on earth is located within at least 1 mile of some sort of body of water.
