Anthracite coal is a metamorphic coal that has a higher luster than any sedimentary coals. It also has the highest carbon content. Otherwise it is very similar to sedimentary coal. Diamond is commonly thought to be the metamorphism of coal but this is largely untrue as the immense majority (near 100%) of diamonds have nothing to do with coal.
