Cytoplasmic male sterile pollen is generally devoid of metabolic activities hence not capable of germination.
Acetocarmine stains chromosomes and sterile pollen must lack them.

Male pollen grains
Pollen are male sex cells. So they contain sperms.

sterile pollen
Pollen is the male plant's reproductive cells (sperm).
The male sex cells from pollen grain are called male gametes.
Male pollen grains
Pollen comes from male part of the flower.
Pollen are male sex cells. So they contain sperms.
The male part that produces pollen is the Stamen, The female part with pollen receptors, is the stigma.
Barnase is a ribonuclease expressed by the bacterium Bacillus amyloliquifaciens. It degrades RNA at the GpN site and thus chews up all RNA. Barstar is a protein that blocks Barnase activity by binding to its active site making it thus unavailable for RNA degradation. Barnase -Barstar system is being used widely to develop male sterile lines. The Barnase gene in the male sterile plants are expressed under the control of a tapetum specific promoter. Thus expressed Barnase in the tapetum degrades tapetal RNA and makes the pollen sterile. The introduction of the Barstar expressing cassette in this system blocks the Barnase protein and thus restores fertility of the pollen.
A pollen tube is part of the male gametophyte of seed plants. It acts as a conduit to transport the male gamete cells from the pollen grain
The bees can transport pollen. Pollen is very male and very sexy.
