legislation such as HASAW is there to protect everyone. Where specific legal requirements are failed upon by management then the outcome is down to the law of the country in which they work. In many counties it is a criminal offense to breach HASAW laws and can be punished by a custodial sentance. Plus in many countries it is not just the individual that can be prosectuted by managers above that person. This is because in most counties the law will make everyone responsible top down and bottom up.
