First of all, it's YEMAYA. Not Jemanja. And it's not a ROLE. Yemaya is a saint. She's the mother of the ocean/water/hurricanes, anything to do with water. That's what represents her. You drink it, you're made of it. She's just a saint. But that's what she "owns".
