Methronidazole is an anti-infective medication used to treat infections caused by organisms. For eg. Methronidazole is part of triple therapy used to treat gastric ulcers caused by the organism Helicobacter Pylori.
A nitroimidazole used to treat AMEBIASIS; VAGINITIS; TRICHOMONAS INFECTIONS; GIARDIASIS; ANAEROBIC BACTERIA; and TREPONEMAL INFECTIONS. It has also been proposed as a radiation sensitizer for hypoxic cells.
