I will use my hunting experience here.
Different types of cammo, are mainly D.P.M (disruptive pattern material) used by the military. Or realtree cammo, witch is basically a photo of woodland printed onto the clothing to mimic the surroundings, while D.P.M employs the effect of blending in with natural colours and braking up the shape of the wearer. There is also leaf cammo witch is small pieces of green and brown fabric attached to clothing/netting and guillie suits witch are made from strands of coloured string to give a more 3D effect to the material. I know some animals also use similar methods of concealment.
Hope this helps.
