The major idea of Buddhism is Nirvana. This is what the Buddha said is the goal of human life. Nirvana that the Buddha spoke about is the same as Liberation, Mukti, Moksha, Enlightenment, Realization. The Buddha self means the awakened one and that is the major idea of life. We should be awakened to the Truth, we should wake up from our slumber, from the darkness of ignorance that we are enveloped in. This is what the Buddha said.
